Umm what does the wifi catcher thing do on my XPS 1530? Pressing it does absolutely nothing?

When your laptop is turned of, you can hold the switch thingie and a led will let (pun not intended) you know if there's a wireless network in range without turning on the laptop... pretty useless if you ask me but hey... who am i?

I had the same problem. Found tha unless you have Dell's quickset running the WiFi catcher won't work. Make sure the quickset starts at startup and you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah, personally I think its a useless feature since it picks up every wireless connection secure or unsecured. If you could change the settings so that it picked up only the non-secured free wifi... it would make it much more useful.

Well never successfully used the wifi catcher function before, usually use my wifi enabled phone to check for hot spots.
