sometimes, as I 've highlighted something (usually text), and then I hit on CTRL+C (or with right click on mouse and then click copy)

it doesn't copy, and then I need to hit again, what's usually the reason? Memory error? System error?
Or most likely because I did not press both of the keys at once?

    It's quite annoying...frustrating....

But I 've been hitting keyboards for more than 20 years I think I am good enough with it

For Ctrl + C, it could be the keyboard itself. I've experienced that before.

This just happens sometimes, regardless of operating system. Deal with it.

Some website especially banks, government sites do this by disabling right click access or clearing clipboard contents more frequently so that the user info isn't abused when someone uses PC in a public network or in cyber cafe's.

Could be user/keyboard error, or it could be on-purpose by the software (as Vasudev mentions).

If you have a memory or a system error, having difficulty copying a string of text would be the least of your issues.

Yeah, sometimes I've had the same issue. It mostly comes up with copying text from websites. Not much can be done about that, it seems. It has been an issue across all major (and several minor) browsers, several OSes, and many, many computers. Of course, it does not escape my notice that I am the common factor in all of this.

However, websites seem to be the most finicky when it comes to copying text to the clipboard. In XP/Vista I used to have a desktop widget that displayed the contents of the clipboard, but all that did was tell me that I needed to try again.

Not all sites permit this action. They've gotten smarter and prevent certain action from being used on their site. If that was something they implemented then there is nothing you can do to change that.

Also could be hitting it so many times you damaged the keyboard contacts that it doesn't respond to the command or action your performing as well.

This is what someone that comes from a Distro that can't set itself as one Linux O/S but has so many Distro there no standard or consistent O/S that will make for one Platform. That now is one big hot mess. If Linux become one O/S for all then it can offer some real alternative to Windows O/S but until that happens Linux will never be a real Alternative besides a hobby O/S.
