I have had my laptop for less than a year, and about two weeks ago I noticed that the screen flashes erratically. I am not sure if "flash" is the correct word to use, but it is extremely noticeable. The only thing I installed the day before it started acting up were Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and a Definition Update for Windows Defender. And a few days before that I updated mozilla firefox 3.5. I also noticed that if I plug in the AC adapter it stops flashing, but as soon as I pull it out, it starts flashing all over again.

Here is what I am talking about:

Could be a multitude of things. From motherboard, LCD inverter cable, LCD itself, GPU to a bad video driver. Take ZaZ's advice, call support soon (and hopefully you aren't out of warranty).

Try upgrade to the latest graphics drivers.. I'll admit I haven't seen the video because I'm on dial-up at the moment..

lol, no no.. I'm actually on cable, but I've been shaped to 8KB/s for downloading over 60GB this month so it's essentially dial-up speed for me right now.

Ok so I called Lenovo tech support and the guy had absolutely no idea what was wrong with my laptop. He had to go "consult with his supervisors" at least 4 times. I believe my call was routed to India because I could hear them speaking in the background. Anyways, he accessed my laptop remotely, but was unable to find what was wrong. So at the end he made me restore my computer, which did not stop the problem. He then said after talking to his supervisors, that he we should restore the laptop to its default or factory settings. He told me to first back up my data and then they would call back. He even gave a service code to use when they did call back. So its been a day and they haven't called. My laptop is still flashing and today when I started it I got the BSOD-Page fault in non-paged area, I attached a copy of my minidump.
