I've had a complete nightmare rebuilding my Alienware M11x ready to be sold. That thread is in the M11x section of the forum. Through all the hassle that caused me my baby HP has been a rock. It's allowed me to

    • research the faults I've had
    • make posts about them
    • make bootable USB install media from an iso using a virtual drive
    • write cds and dvds with an external writer
    • transfer files from usb, sd card and external usb hard disk

...all on one battery charge. And I still have 2hrs 35 minutes battery left.

All the while it's coped with my normal day to day usage:

    • browsing
    • email
    • watching videos at 1080p on external tv
    • watching youtube at 720p on external tv
    • facebook
    • amazon and shopping sites
    • playing music with WMP

...with out a single problem or with any noticeable slow down. The keyboard and touchpad are lovely to use, the hibernate is quick and easy, the screen is excellent, the dual core atom and 2GB RAM make it quick even in windows 7 ultimate and the 3 USB ports, SD card reader and headphone sockets give it more than enough flexibility to cope with almost anything.

Were it not for a need for a slightly bigger screen and mobile gaming power I would happily use it as my only PC and I can't recommend it highly enough.

You should look into the Acer Aspire One 722. It has an AMD c60 dual core processor with a nice little integrated gpu. I had one and it could play wow on like 40+ fps in some areas.
