    hi guys

ive recently pulled my old m11xr2 out of storage & completely renewed it putting in an SSD, 8gb, new keyboard and a new Battery.

I clean factory restored it and began updating drivers.

When checking if the 8gb ram took hold i realized that when i go to System Properties the model make is listed as m18xr2.

Does anyone know the reason for this? i have a standard m18xr2 as well so i find it kinda funny.

Anyone have any ideas? Would be grateful to hear.

Also, apart from buying a new battery i bought one of these things:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01G3G3C7M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

will using it help prolongue battery life? help prevent build up of dust etc? i cleaned my laptop fully after disassembling as much as i could...would adding arctic paste be worth it? or am i likely to screw it up?

Also, any other recommendations on how to pimp out my m11xr2? im planning on trying to make it a completely anonymous laptop as much as possible with encryption, VPNs, TOR etc so was wondering whether i should be buying one of those WWAN cards? perhaps mini pci-e to USB adapter to the WWAN slot? im still new to all this and just beginning to read up so sorry if stupid question.

Also trying to find some cool skins but alas only ebay seems to be the answer?

Thank you in advance to everyone. been a while since ive been here

What disk image did you use to reload your M11x with? One for the M11x or the 18?

you know what, i think i assumed it was my m11x r2 but now that i think about it, i could have been using my m18xr2 backup image i made.
have i really screwed up? is this going to affect my laptop/performance somehow?

does it matter long term if i want to run ubuntu on this laptop btw?

also, my SDD free storage seems to be fluctuating between 67 and 75 or so gb without me doing anything....
