I ask because i see people hiding their text in white font like we cant see it...but the background is clearly a grey/blue on the forum, not white behind our messages. I did notice while browsing this forum on a computer not my own that it does look white, but when properly configured it should be gray. Who can tell the difference?

I can tell the difference, the background is a light gray/blue so the white text sorta "shines"

The post background on my machine is, in fact, grey. I've never done formal calibration in Vista, but I did use the calibration tool in Windows 7 to see if there was any difference.

I can see white text against the background, but only faintly. I've never calibrated my monitor and I was actually wondering a while ago how to go about doing it. I've seen a few guides online, but I was wondering if there are any methods you guys use/like/recommend.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread

Make sure you can see a difference in each of the colors.

Hmm, I never calibrated my SZ's monitor.

But the background is definitely lightly grey/blue.

And that pic - every square is different in colour to my eyes.

0 and 1 are very close for me on the lowest scale, but the background shows up as white. The avatar/user info area is definitely fainly light blue.

I can see all the colors, and can see the white text if I look closely, which I never do. I usually just browse over it and don't care unless some one quotes it and makes it easier for me to see.

Can you guys see the brushes in the background?

    http://www.tweakxp.com/

nizzy1115, that jasc.com link doesn't work very well for me, because I can see all the color differences but still can't see the brushes on tweakxp.com.
