Hi all, I wanted to upgrade my newly bought lenovo y300 memory but not too sure which brands to get. The y300 comes with a generic brand 512mb DDR2 667 stick which modules looked like Micron chips. Currently, what is available at my place are Kingston, Corsair and Crucial. The Kingston Rams are cheap but Ive heard from somewhere that they dont play ball with Lenovo/ThinkPads. Im very inclined to go with the Crucial Rams actually.

    Thanks in advance!

Crucial is a great brand and would be my pick of the 3 aswell... if the price was close.

If not I would probably go the cheaper.

Brand doesnt really matter one bit outside of the warrenty they offer. Its the IC's and right now seems like just about everybody is using micron stuff. It seems to be in an abundance.

Hey thanks for the quick response. I was thinking about Crucial too and besides, the Kingston and Crucial Rams costs the same from where Im from.

Btw, I have another question which might sounds silly as I have to admit that this is my 1st notebook. The question is, do I remove the battery when its hooked up at home or should I just leave it in? Ive done the initial full charging cycle and dont plan on taking y300 out anytime soon.

    Thanks again.
