Which Processor is stronger? i5 6500T vs AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U

    Often cpu boss doesn't compare the processors I'm finding.

    i5 6500T vs AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U

    which is better?

    Let's not kid ourselves here, the 3500u will be faster at less than half the TDP (15w vs 35w). It also has a much better iGPU, has hyperthreading, and will probably accompany a whole other list of upgrades since it will be a newer system.

    The only real question is will the Laptop keep the CPU as cool as the desktop. It really depends on what you are going for here.

    Like tilleroftheearth and custom90gt said, you can choose Ryzen 3rd Gen CPUs if you're looking at Skylake like performance under a budget.
    You may have to do a bit of extra work if you're planning to use Ryzen 3rd gen on W7.

    Thanks for the reply. Also thanks for the benchmark link. Mostly I wanted to see where these 2 stand as far as performance/specifications compared to others so this is more than enough info.

    6500T will likely have the higher single core as it isn't TDP limited, but the 3500U has more threads and a much faster iGPU.
