Norton 2008 is very light on resources from what I have experienced. My processor stays below 10% usage when idling and almost never tops 20% when surfing the web or listening to music.

Right now, as I type this, there are 4 processes running that are tied to Norton in task manager....together they consume ~5 MB of RAM. And yes, I clicked "Show All Processes" and that's what I got.

Doesn't seem to heavy on resources to me.

Kaspersky is the best one out there, if not, then NOD32.

NOD32 is the best, and if you don't believe me, just check out the last 5 or 6 years' anti-virus tests conducted by an independent company Virus Bulletin. NOD32 has won each and every year. Lowest CPU/memory usage, the best in catcing viruses on-the-fly and the best heuristics. I have had 5 updates of the virus definition only today!

    Check this link.

If I get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3-user, $48.00 does it also contain Internet Sec. and Anti Virus?

I'm tossing Notone and Kaspersky around now as to which one.

    I wouldn't say 1000% better...

NIS is a fantastic utility. The new versions are MUCH better then previous versions.

With Norton, I've never had any instance of viruses, malware, spyware or any other malicious things.
