Did Dell implement anything on the list in the R2?

So far... not at all! :(

And, yes: there is no evidence that they are listening to their fan costumers.

Apparently no, but we must wait for an official information.

But I start to think that I have to go for another brand.

What is quite shocking is that Dell havent really paid any heed to what users wanted in a revision of the M18x. Sure, we seem to have a "rebadged" 580m as an option and mSata and a few other bits.....nothing to write home about IMHO. In fact, I can only see this NOT working out for Dell in the short-term as even though they may have dropped a IvyBridge compatable mobo in the R2, who wants to buy one and THEN have to fork out to upgrade to IB!! - BONKERS! - those people are gonna put off buying until they can do so WITH an IB cpu...not buy a system that they have to upgrade.....Dell should have just waited till they could offer it up to everyone who wants IB.

Epic fail, guys. I see no reason to waste our time on such threads in the future. We are no one, just a bunch of day dreaming enthusiasts.

I'm still hoping to see some changes in the officials specs when Ivy is released. If they at least improved the CPU cooling and kept the WiHD along with adding mSata, that would be interesting. Still, my biggest complain is the screen. They could at least improve the finish type (matte/anti-glare) or bump the gamut. But it's not realistic.... :( :( :( :( :( :(

M18x-R3 will probably incorporate more, as it should be redesigned with some of these ideas in mind.

Couldn't agree more. It's very sad indeed.

Edit: Regarding the display panel, yes, better resolutions, better pixel density per square inch, and better gamut... All this is keeping me far away from a new purchase. :( &

I visited our local Apple store today and was amazed by the retina display of the new iPAD. If they offer the technology in the new 13" MBPs + matte finish, I might pull the trigger
