I'm also using this gaming laptop for photo shop and editing videos. Would a gaming laptop be powerful enough. Specs msi titan i7 8750H 6 core gtx 1070 16gb ram 2666mh. Upgrades would be more hard rive space and upgraded cooling from HIDevolution

For gaming laptops the main concern is usually cooling. Considering many do video editing on macs, that hardware is very good for video editing. If you don't need something portable it's a very good choice.

From HID with cooling upgrades there isn't much to worry about.

Most gaming laptop screens are focused on fast refresh rates and response times. Usually this means they are poor when it comes to color accuracy for photo/video editing so keep that in mind.

The 17" 4K (not 15") displays on the high end MSIs are extremely good in that regard though. It'll only be 60Hz and probably with iffy response times, but the color accuracy on them is great.

That's only if you use Final Cut. Other video editing softwares work better on windows powerfull laptops

That was mostly what I was implying. I know many use Final Cut but I know plenty that don't... And if they like it on a Macbook Pro, it'll be a lot better with a powerful windows laptop.
