    A CF74 is 1024 x 768 resolution.
If you keep using that older version, a CF31 with an i5 would work nicely. A CF31 also has 1024 x 768 resolution. It is the same size screen as the CF74, but a CF31 is fully rugged.
The newer version "may" work also. I would try the older one first. I wonder why they "require" the resolution to be so much higher??
I happen to have a used CF31 mk2 to sell.
Send me a private message about it.

Based on my personal experience, autocad 2012 or so (whenever the ribbon style interface was intrioduced) and later start up slowly, taking up to a minute to be ready on a slow machine, but wireframe performance is good as long as the drawing is not too complex. I would guesstimate a few thousand lines and points before performance becomes unacceptable on a core 2 duo machine with intel graphics. Without a modern graphics card you will not be rendering anything though.

Autocad will launch with 1024x768 but any version with a ribbon based gui is almost completely unusable at such a resolution. You would have to work with a single view at a time and all panels hidden.
