    Hi,

I decided to get a used laptop (never needed one before). I just bought a Dell C840 off "ePay" and the seller decided to send me his problem. The pointer is out of control, doing that moving and traveling with little regard to the stick. It gets so bad it will often stay in a corner for what seems like forever, with absolutely no control with the stick. Very frustrating.

I'm hoping to solve this myself and found this thread, which looked promising, but didn't appear to answer "And how to disable pointer stick." in the title. I'd rather hassle with a disable fix than spend 3 months trying to get my money back through Paypal and "eBad."

I'm new to laptops, so if anyone can give me the steps in disabling the stick completely (if there is no cure), I'd be grateful. I can live without the stick if I must. I'm assuming disabling the stick won't affect the touch pad? I Googled one answer that suggested cutting wires  . There has to be a better way.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Edit: SOLVED
