I have been having a lot of trouble finding a laptop best for me. Most of them are very pricey and I have found it quite hard to find the best overall. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some great laptops to me under my budget. (Please let me know if some of my answers to the questions are not specific enough.)

    General Questions

    1) What is your budget?

    $1000

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

Mainstream is what I want the most but Thin and Light is my 2nd choice.

    a. Netbook; 10" screen or less
    b. Ultraportable; 11" - 12" screen
    c. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
    e. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.

    USA

    BestBuy
    MicroCenter
    (Last resort) Amazon

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    a. Like: ASUS, Alienware, MSI, Razer, Dell
    b. Dislike:

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?

    No, I prefer new.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

Mostly gaming but also school work from time to time.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

    Mainly taking it different places

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?

Minecraft and Rocket League are the games I seek to play most.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

At least 3 hours or more

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

    Yes

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS, etc.

    Windows 10

    Screen Specifics

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Keep in mind screen size in conjunction with resolution will play a large role in overall viewing comfort level. Everyone is different. Some like really small text, while others like their text big and easy to read. (Scroll down to see screen resolution information.)

    I prefer 1366x768 mostly.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? (Scroll down to see explanations.)

I would prefer a Matte screen.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

I don't want anything thick. I like somewhat slim/thin. I also don't want a big keyboard. A mousepad and casual sized keyboard would be fine for me. Finally, I don't want a laptop that has edges that point out. For example like sides that point like a triangle.

    15) When are you buying this laptop?

Sometime before or after July 1st.

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last?

    3-4 Years

    Notebook Components

    17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive? 256GB or more. An SSD drive would be preferred. (Also I don't know if this belongs here but at least 8GB of RAM would be nice as well.)

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?

    No
