If you're serious about a cooling pad then most people in that category opt for the cooler master u3 modded with 3x 120mm fans powered externally.

This way you can also have a fan controller and USB 3.0 hub too or more depending on how creative you get.

99% of the benefit of the cooling pad, no matter what brand , is the fact that it elevates the back and allows more air in. The fans that come with them are useless. You can get the same results using anything to elevate the back really, unless your willing to heavily mode the cooling pad.

If you have a gaming laptop, or any laptop really that will benefit from more air flow then elevating the back even using something as dumb as bottle caps will help.

+1 on just elevate the back. I keep my back feet on temporary 1cm wood blocks until I print something nice.

Also, I can't understand why the intake grill cutouts are so small. I'm 100% sure it would help if I cut large round holes in the case and put wide fan grills there. (I don't know about 51m, this is for another machine).

The fans do nothing if there are no vents on the bottom. Taking the bottom cover off can make all the difference.

I measured, and the statement it is gnerally incorrect, at least in the case of the m15. The benefit is split about 30% fan - 70% lifting the back.

That's heavily depends on the model in question
