I have the 5 pipe heatsink, I’m currently looking at a 1070m from the same people I bought my 980m from.

Other than the modded driver, what is absolutely required for me to get the laptop up and running?

I know a lot of people suggest modded bios, 120hz screen, but I haven’t sold myself on the other stuff yet.

You said essentially the same thing about the unlocked bios.

And I’ve read and heard mixed things.

Well by your own OP, its suggested, as its not required.

You went and got a 5 pipe heatsink, which is the first thing not absolutely required. heatsink can be modded to work with the 1070.

Requires a Pure UEFI environment, as well as SG mode if you are not going to get an eDP compliant panel.

Answer these questions bi-weekly, the answers are here, as they were when I originally did this on my own Ranger.

    Just read it,

Go to the tenoroon. And read the last 20 messages and tell me how this isn’t conflicting information. Which is the problem lol

I don't think you read my post that I put up on how to do the upgrade. I answer most of the questions about the upgrade there. If you follow step by step you should have absolutely no problems or headaches

Most likely because they don't know. But 120hz > 60hz overall. You will get the most performance on 120hz rather than 60hz using SG mode.

I mean if we are talking purely better performance, I know the 120hz screen allows for bypass of the iGPU allowing the dGPU to have a better throughput and not be bottle necked. Not including how great 120hz feels/looks in games

I just want to be able to do the GPU upgrade then decide later about the 120hz at this point lol
