??WARNING?? - OBSIDIAN-PC

    Hi everyone,

    Just wanted to share my experience so far with Obsidian PC and warn anyone who may be purchasing in the upcoming weeks/months. I'll keep this short.

    I placed my order for the specs below on 2ND July.

    P775TM1
    RTX 2080
    i7-9700K (Delidded)
    16GB DDR4
    Approx €2300 (Exc VAT)

    Now, I saw from many other posters on the forum their orders were shipped and delivered to them within 2 weeks from placing the order. Mine is coming up to 4 weeks and has not even been dispatched yet.

    I have been told at multiple points my order would be dispatched (the latest date for dispatch was supposedly last Friday, but the order is still at 'Testing - QC') and have had no contact from Obsidian since my last chase.

    I did receive an email 2 weeks ago advising staff shortages were to blame for delay but they were resolved and everything would be back to normal by now but that doesn't appear to be the case.

    I'm upset that for an order that has cost a large amount of money, I am having to constantly chase for information and when I am provided with dates they are not met.

    I'm sad about this as every other review for Obsidian has been gleaming but my experience really doesn't seem to be good.

    Be cautious of you are considering ordering from Obsidian, at least until whatever issues they are facing are resolved.

    So, unfortunately i missed this post.
    I tried to keep you informed all the way, are you getting our update emails?
    You order was delivered today, i´m extremely sorry for the delay, BUT there was some pretty good reasons.

    This will be hard to believe, but, not only this is that time of the year where most of the staff is on vacations, but this also happened:
    A) The person in charge of stock purchases and one of the owners and dear friend of mine was submitted to an emergency surgical operation.
    - Caused delays with out of stock parts - We sent you an email about this correct? Did you get it?
    B) The mother of our warehouse guy died.

    All exactly at the same time, and all exactly when 3 other staff members were on vacations.
    Basically i had to do everything, including assemble your unit.

    I´m extremely sorry, but this was the most unprecedented / uncommon / unlucky scenario i ever had.
    If you look at the time in your order updates you will see that i was working at 1:30am !!! Yeah it was THAT bad.

    PS. i sent you order updates in the following dates:

    Excluding the emails we exchanged i know i sent you at least these order updates:
    Jul 2, 2019
    Jul 11, 2019 12:41:53 PM
    Jul 18, 2019 11:31:19 AM
    Jul 25, 2019 12:13:46 AM
    Plus the production software also sends at least two emails...

    If i remember there was also system tickets involved correct? Not sure? And you can always call us!!

    Again, really sorry, this is really not common, this last 3 weeks were a complete disgrace, a lot of orders got delayed :(

    OH by the way... now that everyone is back.... guess what? I´m on vacations!

    Oh i´m sure he does, i think we even spoke by phone in the beginning and he sounded like a really great guy.
    But big waiting times are always reason for concern, i make all types of online orders and i too get annoyed and nervous when there´s delays.
    We usually take max 6 days to ship, so this was REALLY REALLY an extraordinary exemption.
    Also, it´s really weird that this month first week produced almost 3 times the order amount that we usually get.
    This was without a doubt the weirdest month i ever had, i usually dont mind working late and even reply to mails et all at home after dinner, but on top of this, after two years of painful medical procedures, my wife is finally pregnant! So i try not to bring work home and give her as much attention as i can.

    That´s why now i´m taking vacations, working till 1am+ then arriving home and having to do all the work was painful... time for some quality family time!

    Hi all,

    Thank you for the time to respond!

    As John has kindly mentioned above, it appears I had just been caught at a bad time for the team at Obsidian.

    I am and always will be completely understanding of exceptional circumstances such as these, I was however upset regarding the communication and not knowing where I stood with my order, which is where my upset came from, though I do appreciate the situation and am understanding.

    For me this was a massive amount of money and being in the UK, ordering from Portugal meant the distance was already something that left me eager to know what was going on etc, which is why when I was confused when the order took longer than it usually does.

    Saying that, the order has now been delivered (today), I'm yet to open it but am no doubt sure that it will meet every expectation and would like to thank everyone at Obsidian and John for the time and care taken in providing me with their product and service!

    I hope things at Obsidian return to normal and wish everyone there all the best!
