I have a feeling that the answer is that I should wait a couple of months until some of these places certify things, but I'm looking for the most powerful notebook for 3D (for movies) and SLI 580M.

    General Questions

    1) What is your budget?

    Unlimited

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

17-18" Don't care about the weight, but would prefer not having two huge power blocks if possible.

    3) Where will you buying this notebook?

    USA

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

Up to now, prefer Alienware, but they don't offer the 580M in 3D

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?

    No.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

Game design; Online fantasy Gaming, Awaiting Skyrim and SWTOR (online, watching 3D Movies

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? Both, but mostly just to move from room to room if I want to.

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?

Upcoming STWOR, Upcoming Guild Wars II, Upcoming Skryim, currently Oblivion in preparation for Skyrim.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

    Not a factor

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

Buying blindly is okay for me.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

    Windows 7

    Screen Specifics

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Keep in mind screen size in conjunction with resolution will play a large role in overall viewing comfort level. Everyone is different. Some like really small text, while others like their text big and easy to read. Click here for Screen resolution information.

    1920x1080 (more important) or 1920x1200

    13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen?

    I have no preference.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

    No

    15) When are you buying this laptop?

As soon as one is available tied to the 580M. I don't want the 485 or the 560Ms. If I have no choice and I find I am waiting to long, I will forget about the 3D and go with the 6970 Crossfires.

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last?

    3-3 1/2 years.

    Notebook Components

    17) How much hard drive space do you need; at least 256GB

Do you want a SSD drive? That would be nice.

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

    Blue Ray

Sager still needs to refresh their SLI line last I checked.

    Alienware m18x?

    Hell... Falcon?

Falcon = OverPriced Sager, no point in getting it.
Get the M18x with the 580m SLi, cant get anything better than that right now. If you are looking for a 3d screen the you are out of luck as 580m SLI does not support a 3d screen, but i think it will support 3d output so you can get a separate 3d monitor for that. The most powerful 3d laptop you can get right now is the Sager NP8170 from xoticpc with the 120hz screen and a single 485m, half the performance of the 580 SLi m18x

Why not? Budget = "unlimited". Usually that comes with comments like "will pay more for quality; or will increase budget if needed", but if a lone "unlimited" rolls around, one can only expected... unlimited funds. What about the phrase, "buying blindly is ok".

Why get a poor/average man's performance in the form of Sager?

I mean, the OP can go for Falcon if they want to pay a few grand for a paint job.

Honestly the only difference between Falcon and Sager is the Paintjob, and i even find the falcon one ugly. Both are Clevo based machines so no other difference. I mean Falcon charges 1000$ for a 95% gamut screen whereas Sager charges 95$.

Doesn't matter to OP. And I'm willing to bet some of that 4 digit pricetag goes towards reliability/quality whether you want to believe it or not.

It's the exact same laptop! If they want to spend for the extra quality control, Mythlogic does that a LOT cheaper.

Same Clevo chassis, suppliers for HDD/CPU/whatnot could vary. And quality control/customer service is supposedly superior.

I don't see why you guys are arguing with me, price is no object. Are Falcon NWs inferior to Sager?

Okay, the HDD will be from a similar vendor, i mean there are not a lot of companies manufacturing HDDs, CPU will be from Intel so what is the point. Screen, Chassis, fans etc are all from Clevo so no difference really. Quality control on Sager is awesome(the 6970ms were discontinued by Sager as Sager was having problems with the card, yet none of the customers complained cause all the faulty machines, save one, were identified before shipping). So basically Falcon overcharges because they feel like it. I mean why on earth would they charge 1000$ for a upgrade that Sager charges 100$ for, do they need 900$ to ensure quality control or better warranty/support. Sager resellers have excellent support, so Falcon is just a piece of crap company that likes to overcharge. Just like Origin.
