As per the title; I'd love a guide to overclock my 6820HK in my AORUS laptop.

I adjusted the multipliers in XTU and voltage and had it crash and reboot.

The AORUS bios is soooo locked down that nothing can be done there, so an XTU guide or a throttlestop guide would be great.

    Many Thanks!

First and foremost, you should repaste and tone your undervolt so as to make sure it's not tripping thermal shutdown.

No undervolt at present, no thermal throttling showing in XTU with max temps around 75-80°C.

What's recommended for repasting in a notebook?

I'm not sure how my cpu compares to others. I've got it at 4.0ghz on one core and when it's at 4 core ..3.8ghz.

So really a 200 MHz boost from the aorus stock 4 core turbo of 3.6ghz.
I've undervolted the cpu to -69mv and the cache to -74mhz. It crashes if I go further. Temps are under 90c on a stress test at auto fans.

Xtu seems to not let you change cache and cpu volt separately...Whatever u change on one changes on the other. For this reason I prefer throttle stop.

I put the cores at 40x for 1
    39x for 2
    38x for 3
    38x for 4
Power limits at 65 watts ( never gets there)
And leave the voltages at default and adaptive.
Then undervolt the cache and cpu.
    Save changes and stress test.
Use windows task scheduler to make throttle top start 1 min delayed so xtu won't use settings. Whenever you open " overclock gauge" in command control....Xtu will force its settings. So I don't go in there and just leave the GPU at level 5.
Set chrome to not use hardware acceleration ( or whatever browser you use) and the GPU should stay down under 200mhz when browsing. It'll clock up when it needs to so no need for that "overclock guage".
Use rivaruner for in game monitoring and hwinfo 64 for temps monitoring when testing.
I've only been overclocking for about a year but I've learned alot from different people.
Trial and error,. As long as you don't raise voltages you'll be ok.

I would LOVE a walkthrough for repasting the cpu!!
