Montevina is a big deal. It brings a lot of changes to the last Core 2 platform:
    • 25w Penryn processors
    • Intel GMA 4500
    • High-Def video playback does not need a dedicated graphics card
    • Wifi/Wimax combo cards
    • DDR3 Ram
    • 2nd version of Turbo memory (now 2GB instead of 1GB)
    • DisplayPort support

Would it be wise to buy computers with Montevina processors as soon as they hit the market? Wouldn't it be better to wait a few months after its release so that the bugs can be worked out, or is that something that we don't have to worry about with processors?

By then, we'll be thinking of octa-cores... and for desktops 16-cores will be the norm! :p

Waiting for Technologie makes NEVER sence, if you would buy something at an earlier state.
If you would NOT buy something at an earlier state, THEN waiting makes sence.

After all my research, I am under the impression that Penryn will have a mobile quad core for Montevina before Nehylum is released.

From what I read, this does seem to be true information.

So is it a bad idea to buy a notebook right now?
