Reading up a little about 'everyone' already retiring their old Z2's, I was wondering: Has anyone already succesfully installed Windows 10 on a VPCZ2?
I'm asking since I'm hesitant about doing the upgrade on my main computer (Z2) at Day One, maybe someone is using their old Z2 to check Windows 10 out.

Any thoughts and experience appreciated :)

(Currently downloading W10 32 bit for my older BZ12. If anyone's interested about that experience I can comment about that later)

I just upgraded my Z3 yesterday. The mouse and keyboard freeze every time I come out of Standby mode, the logging on screen takes forever to let me type in my password, and the fan keeps running loud nonstop (might be due to the upgrade, but it just keeps going even 24 hours later).

forget about upgrading to Windows 10 until the autumn or fall season. Sony has posted a notice to postpone the Windows 10 upgrade as they have not yet posted any Windows 10 compatible drivers & software on this page:
    http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/os10upgrade.pl?

wait til either October 2015 or November 2015 for Win10 compatible drivers & software from Sony

I checked on European Sony sites and the VPCZ2 will not get driver updates:

The same is shown for the SVZ. Was the SVZ shipped in some regions with Windows 8 pre-installed?

I don't have any of those issues with my SVZ. The upgrade worked great. I did upgrade from 8.1. I had to disable some touchpad multigesture settings to make the curse non-jerky, but other than that it's been performing great.

Idle temps are in the low to mid 50's while the fan is barely audible.

Now that you've availed the free upgrade offer by upgrading your OS to Windows 10, you can go for a clean install. Don't enter any key when asked - just skip or do this later.

A clean install is highly recommended in solving issues like those described by you. Also, try disabling 'fast start' in power options.

I had Windows 8.1 running and upgraded to Windows 10.
The only issue I had was related to the graphics driver, I couldn't change the screen's brightness. I managed to solve this by uninstalling the HD3000 driver, which led Windows to install it's own one after restarting. This might cause issues with the PMD, I didn't check that yet. (Was using the official Sony Windows 8 compatible AMD/Intel driver, if that really turns out to be incompatible I might have to check leshcat's hacked drivers again although they never were as stable as the official one).

Apart from that everything works great, Touchpad, Screen, Fan, Battery, Wifi etc etc, no issues whatsoever!

I first updated to Windows 8.1 Pro, and installed all the drivers available for that. Then I updated to WIndows 10 and everything works as expected. I've also tried the Power Media Dock and that works fine also outputing through both laptop and external monitors.

Maybe once you upgrade to Windows 10, try applying the Windows 8.1 drivers available on the Sony website?
