Does anyone know which is the latest working Realtek Audio driver where the noise cancelling headphones actually work?

Clean install of Windows 10 8109 didn't install any Realtek drivers, although the sound worked, albeit without noise cancelling functionality.
Installed the stock Sony driver - 6.0.1.6028 which worked fine.

6.0.1.8549 doesn't provide the noise cancelling functionality. Throws up an error - gets stuck in the initializing stage.
    6.0.1.8454 same.

    Error
    Initializing the noise canceling function.
The noise canceling function cannot be used until initialization is finished.

It appears that the newer drivers are not backwards compatible with the old chip/ noise canceling system. 6.0.1.7071 works partially in that you get no error and can enable/ disable the noise cancelling feature, but no noise cancellation seems to be actually taking place.
6.0.1.8454 and later give the above error when noise canceling headphones are plugged in.

I've been trying drivers from sites other than Sony. The chip is Realtek ALC889s. Some work, some don't. The latest available is Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.8614 WHQL, but like the others, it doesn't work 100% with our hardware.

Btw. is noise cancelling working for anyone with VPCZ1 running Windows 10 x64 (8019)? Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.

There are some limitations we are facing when not using Sony's original/hybrid drivers. High resolution Audio via HDMI is one, and it would not come as a surprise to me if Noise Cancelling was another.

you need Realtek hd audio driver version 6.0.1.7177 from Sony, anytimer

    https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/downloads/W0009776

    https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/support/downloads/Y0005943

where exactly did you get the 6.0.1.8614 WHQL driver (link/URL to it)? that one may be PC/OEM specific and not applicable or not compatible with your Sony laptop.

any driver above build 7200 (6.0.1.7200) may break the noise cancelling feature
