and the 84/86 nvidia problems were only a limited bunch of graphic cards that were sold. Im sure they solved the problem by now.

Neat-o. At first I thought "2510" was a typo. Thanks for the scan / pic. :)

Wow - great of you to go to the effort and post the picture, I really like the design!
I wonder when this will come to Australia and its options for configuration.

Im disappointing that they are using the 8xxx series, and an 8400 at that in a 15.4in notebook.

Why would they release a new laptop and not make it Centrino 2-based? I realize that the target demographic *might* not care about Centrino 2, but it still seems silly on Dell's part to stick with the older processors. Also, 8400M? For reals?

I like the design but this laptop would have made sense two months ago. Right now, the spec choices seem odd.

You mean would have made sense last year? It does look great but lacking on internals imho.

    @liquidxit2: I was being a little generous. :p

This has got me thinking - what graphics will the new Latitudes carry? The recent presentation only said "256MB NVIDIA discrete graphics." The choice of hardware might have to do with keeping the Vostro line positioned below the Latitude E-series though.

I highly doubt it. My 8600M GT chip in my 3 week old MBP is still showing some random glitches that gets worse by the day..

On a side note, that picture on the flyer, the speaker grills somehow has a huge resemblace to Apple's Macbook Pro. :D

    Lets see...

    1) No LED display option
    2) Old Santa Rosa chipset (800Mhz FSB)
    3) Old 8xxx series graphics chip
    4) No illuminated keyboard option
    5) No P series processor options

It's obsolete on the day that it's announced!

My 1700 would decimate a 2150. It was top tech last year, yet they claim its the fastest vostro available according to this:

The laptop is now available for configuring on the Dell USA website. The selection of components is seriously weak. The only processors you can get are the T5670, T5870, or the T9500. Preliminary ship date is for August 14 and a maxed-out config will run you close to $3000. Ludicrous.
