I configured the Windows Movility Center. When I close the Lid : Do nothing.
But I close the lid, and then when I open it, the OS is running but the windows screen wont come again(I can't see anything). Only after I reboot or something.
    Any idea??

Sounds like this is a graphics driver issue. I have Vista on my laptop and the screen comes back on no problem when I open the lid.

Any idea what drivers you are using? You may consider upgrading to the Catalyst 7.1 suite for Vista; you can download it from ATI's site.

Did your problem appear after you install ATI catalyst driver?. Because I didn't have this lid problem running the default Vista driver, then I installed ATI Catalyst driver and after that I had the exact same problem.

Uninstall ATI Catalyst didn't solve it either. so I figured I should reinstall Windows Vista.
After I reinstalled Vista, then I don't have the lid problem anymore  , so now I'm sticking with the default Vista driver :D

I got that kind of problem. Sometimes I manually put my S1 on hibernate mode and close the lid before it has time to hibernate (or something like that). Anyway, when I reopen the lid, it seems like the hardware exception doesn't reach the software responsible for turning the screen back on. I sometimes have to press on my keyboard / move the mouse / reclose and reopen the lid... I'm not exactly sure when this happens, but I usually manage to get the image back.

I get that sometimes on my S1. Try hitting the Fn + F7 combination (im not sure its F7, its the one for switching between the screen and an external display. Has a pic of 2 well...displays on it.) If my screen turns off, i hit the switch-display combination twice and it returns to normal. Not sure why it does that though.

    Thanks,

If I should have known that driver problem, I wouldn't have installed it.... but I don't want to reformat again :), I think that I'll wait for the new driver.

At leat I'm sure now that it is a driver problem :D
    thanks again.

When I installed the Catalys 7.2 driver on my LG S1pro (Vista business 32b) I got exactly the same problem. I have not had it with the default Vista driver. And I was able to solve it within the device manager by simply going back to the former driver (function within the device manager).
I guess it is driver related and I will wait until LG offers the ATI driver on their support site.

    Update:
You might find a workaround which will cause your mobility center not "to know" that you have a lid and you will not be able to asign any function to it. But it is supposed to avoid the black screen after re-opening the lid...

    Hello,

First post here. I just wanted to say that I tried what was suggested in the link (make it so lid doesn't register) and it worked.

Hopefully an update will be released that fixes the problem.
