ok..so I just got my M1330 today..and I want to do a clean reinstall and repartition the HD (also get rid of the recovery partition)...before I do that I'd like to burn the so-called recovery disks in case anything goes wrong during the reinstallation...

This is from a clean install guide:
Make Recovery Disks: Open the start menu and in the search box, type in Recovery Media. Then click Recovery Media from the window. *Be warned, you can only make ONE copy of the recovery media. If you mess up, you'll have to reinstall from the partition again in order to be able to make another recovery disk.* Make sure you 3 recordeable dvd disks available (or 1 CD and 2 DVDs. The first disk can be a CD). It takes 2 to 3 blank disks total. Then just follow the instructions and you should be all set.

I tried to search for Recovery Media but nothing came up...so how do I go about burning recovery disks again?
do I need to download any software to do this?

    btw..i'm using home premium

#1. It should come with a recovery driver disc.
#2. Once Vista is installed, your WIFI & Ethernet *should* be installed automatically, so you can go online right away and download the latest ones from Dell.

    I recommend #2.

Remember to run the Intel Chipset Driver installation first before anything else. (Then graphics, sound, and the for the rest sequence doesn't matter really).

Mine came with the Vista reinstallation DVD and the Dell driver DVD. Those are the "recovery disks". Your link is to the IBM/Lenovo forums. Apparently those laptops require a recovery disk to be created. Dell included them with the M1330.

I'm hoping someone creates a guide for doing a clean install of m1330 vista step by step. It would really be a help.

just follow the instructions on the MediaDirect reinstallation booklet...and remember to be patient...(black screen came up for only 5 seconds and I was beginning to think I've already destroy my first lappie)
