I'm wondering if anyone has tracked down some sort of clamshell case which can or does incorporate the cloth that's pretty much mandatory to keep the notebook in decent condition. I just find it ludicrous that I have to carry the cloth around as well and carefully place it every time I'm putting it away - would make more sense it could be integrated into a low-profile case.

I don't know about any such case, but unfortunately based on my experience the cloth does not guarantee at all that the screen will be kept in a good condition.

I just use a VGP-CP24 and sometimes my crumpler "The Fug" (the case is built for macbook air 13", but fits the Vaio Z just fine - the red rust color is the best)Fug (13")

Otherwise, sfbags.com and briefing USA make great custom made cases for vaio z: VAIO Zシリーズ 見てきた!BRIEFING製PCケース:ソニーな、お店が大阪にあった!:So-net blog

You're probably right. But the religious use of a cloth then doesn't give Sony an 'out' when you call them for warranty regarding problems with the dumb choice of an aluminium top plate / bezel with a carbon body. Everyone should bear that in mind.

Did you receive the VGP-CKZ3 yet? If so, what do you think about it?

I'm also looking for a Vaio Z sleeve, is approx. 95 euro's in the Netherlands.

I'm a college student that just received a Z3. I need a backpack to hold my books and my laptop. Any recommendations that won't break the bank? I'm considering a timbuk2 messenger laptop bag but I don't know which to get. Also which size would fit my 13" without it jumbling around?
