Stretchy cases might work, but bear in mind it's exerting an additional bending force on the notebook in the meanwhile. There's snug, and there's the equivalent of wrapping rubber bands around the unit.

Very true. To this I would add: beware of zipper pulls in tight sleeves. Someone shipped me a Z12 in a VAIO neoprene sleeve, packed in really tightly for security, and the metal back of the zipper pull pressed hard against the barrel back for the duration of the shipment and made a small but unsightly scratch/dent - fortunately it was only visible when the lid was closed and you viewed the back of the laptop. Lucky "oops."

Well it's not putting any force on the laptop. The Sony case was on the other hand. When I mean tight I just mean it doesn't move around inside. The case doesn't have to stretch to fit my laptop.

Judging from the 100s of 5-star reviews on Amazon, this is an excellent basic sleeve. ON the strength of your endorsement, I ordered one! Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in response. I don't know when I put it in of course it bulks up a bit where the battery is extended by there is enough space for this to do that with the leather case. Assuming you are using the case with the flap (non magnetic). Mine could be the American version.
I can take a picture for you later.

EDIT I apologize, I am using this: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VGP-CKZ2-Leather-Carrying-Black/dp/B001CSRA70

Of course... the Macbook Pro 13-inch!

I wasn't thinking about that boat anchor, it didn't even enter my mind. I was just thinking Air cases.

Hmmm. Yeah, stretchy cases for the 13" Pro should fit fine.

13" Pro is 2.41cmH x 32.5cmW x 22.7cmD, and the Z2 is 1.66cmH x 33cmW x 21cmD. So only a 5mm stretch in terms of width, which the difference in height should be able to accomodate in a case with some give even if snug for the Pro.

    Good call.

Wow 2+ years later and this thread still going :p.

Well, I'd of course recommend the Zeroshock case, kept my Z safe and toasty. It's not a completely tight fit but it'll do :).
