Hi! I left a message at the dell section earlier. I'm looking for a laptop for my freelance animation/graphic design work. Right now I'm trying to decide between the Dell 8600 and the Vaio PCG-FRV37. I wonder which one is more suited for After Effects + Photoshop + Flash type of tasks? Basically I want something that gets the job done efficiently, while size and style don't matter as much. Thanks for your help!

I have adobe software too and have ordered the new emachines m6805 with the new ahtlon 64 chip. Even better it has an above average video card with 64 mb dedicated memory. check it out on the emachines thread.

I wouldn't be able to comment w/o knowing the specifications of the Dell. However; the FRV37 is a nice unit that would be capable of the tasks required here. As well as the 8600, doubtful. A lot of that has to do with the shared video memory, a real deal breaker for graphical intensive requirements such as 3D video games etc.

I would go with the 8600.
