I just installed Mandriva 2010 and I am not really familiarized with the OS, I cant seem to get root permission to modify files, I am trying to add skins to amsn dir but I dont have permission as root.

Does anyone know the commands to allow user root privs to move files in the file-system? (in gui)

I am not finding much for tutorials, any help would be great :)

I know I can easily boot into root and to modify the file system, but I don't want to do that.

In a terminal type, "su command". In your case it would likely be, "su filemanager" *Substitute filemanager with the name of your file manager.

just go to terminal / konsole > login as root (su) > sudo dolphin (that's what i prefer, we already logged in as root so we dont need sudo :D
