You can speed up browsing in Firefox quite a bit (depending on your connection) by enabling pipelining.

To see how to do that right, see http://egonitron.com/2007/05/25/the-truth-about-the-firefox-pipelining-trick/. If you change this value, be aware that it might cause problems. Keep in mind that it might be the cause if websites suddenly begin to behave oddly, in that case, try lowering the number of requests done at the same time via Network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

The folks over at Mozilla have updated the Add-ons website. There is a new feature they call Collections. What are collections? In the words from the Mozilla site:

Collections are groups of related add-ons assembled for easy sharing.

    I created one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collection/AKAJohnDoe

1-ClickWeather - for those who prefer weather.com based data instead of accuweather.com

Adblock Plus - blocks ads and clutter

All-in-One Sidebar - convenience of firefox and addons settings available in a quick access sidebar

Auto Copy - highlighted text auto copies to clipboard

Autohide - makes fullscreen mode much more configurable

Delicious Bookmarks - online bookmark storage for convenience

Download Statusbar - tracks download status conveniently in the statusbar

IE Tab - convenient IE usage for those rare websites that need it

Mouse Gestures Redox - mouse gestures to conveniently perform routine actions (configurable too)

NoScript - disable javascript for security purposes

PDF Download - useful for downloading PDFs

Screengrab - take screenshots for websites (apparently Fireshot is good too but can be annoying once the trial period runs out, so I'll stick with Screengrab)

Speed Dial - the one reason I faulted Firefox over Opera was that it lacked Opera's convenient Speed Dial... not anymore with this addon

Tab History - newly opened tabs from other tabs contain its history

Tab Mix Plus - make tabs more configurable

Update Notifier - for managing addon updates automatically

WebMail Notifier - convenient automatic checking of most of the popular webmail services

Classic Compact theme - increased screen real estate

Quoted directly from the Firefox Add-On's Website:

    W.O.T - Web Of Trust.

Warns you about risky websites that try to scam visitors, deliver malware or send spam. Protect your computer against online threats by using WOT as your front-line layer of protection when browsing or searching in unfamiliar territory. WOT's color-coded icons show you ratings for 21 million websites - green to go, yellow for caution and red to stop – helping you avoid the dangerous sites. Surf safer and add WOT to your Firefox now.

    [ Add-On Website. ]

    [ Install Now! ]

    [ Privacy Policy. ]

In my personal opinion, Web of Trust (W.O.T) is better than McAfee SiteAdvisor in some cases, its data is solely based on the community's reports, and is enriched and maintained by the people of the community as well, in a Wikipedia-Like style.

It has several, gauge-able categories that can be set to different values depending on your own perceptions of a site that you'd like to review, "Trustworthiness", "Vendor Reliability", "Privacy" and "Child Safety"; the categories feed the data that W.O.T uses to classify websites and their global values and your own perceptions of the website can be changed on-the-fly and udpated both in your local W.O.T database, and into the global W.O.T database.

Interclue is an amazing productivity tool. It allows you to hover over a link and a small pop up window with the page contents comes into view. What a time saver!

I don't know if you guys would consider these useful, but here are some of mine:

Canvas-customize your browser with any image
    Download Statusbar-view and manage downloads
    FireShot-screenshots
NoSquint-helpful for people with poor eyesight
    Taboo-better than bookmarks for me
    WOT-better than SiteAdvisor for me

There are many more I use, but that's enough for now. :p
