Just wondering, I have a Nintendo DS with obvious wi-fi capabilities.

If I was to use my notebook with a wired ethernet connection to the internet, would it be possible to use the notebook like an access point which my DS could connect to, and effectively share the internet connection?

    Thanks.

Yes, you need to activate ICS then make your wireless a bridge. Of course your notebook will need to be on for it to work, without any power management.
