I have 2 distinct and not related problems (i think), i would appreciate anyone having the patience to read and help

    1) USB+keyboard disconnects:

for some time now a very frustrating event has been having with my gs65 8re (gtx 1060).

My keyboard started randomly getting stuck/not responding, as in I would be typing and suddenly it would repeat a letter I typed for countless of times without me touching anything. Or it would just stop responding and not input anything even with my typing. All this would last 1-2 seconds and it would be back on track.

I then connected and used an external keyboard and the same happened. Sometimes it would also fully disconnect for 1-2 seconds, and either reconnect itself or require me to unplug and plug it back in the USB.
I also have a USB to ethernet adapter, and when this keyboard disconnect would happen, my internet/ethernet would also fail, signalling that the adapter suffered the same fate too.

I also bought the adapter because of the normal ehternet connection limiting my file download speed to 1MB, even though the browsing speed would be 940+mbps.

I am not sure whether this is software or hardware related...since it also happens on external as well as normal laptop keyboard.

    2) High temps after bios and EC update:

Did a bios update to the latest on the msi support site. After it i had issues with windows stability, it would freeze completely and display weird gemoetric figures and colors. I pressed the button on the back of the laptop and it did nothing.

Windows restore fixed the issue. After this i did EC firmware update to latest on the msi support site.

Now i don't know if it was before or after EC update. But sure as heck after the ec firmware update, the fans were very audible and my overall temps 20C hotter. I flashed back to a 105 firmware instead of the latest 107, and it is still the same. Idle temps before used to be 30C while now they are 50C; gaming temps 70C while now they are 80-90C

I am absolutely clueless as to what to do in regards to these two problems...

Regarding the fans problem, look into the documentation of bios/ec. There you'll probably find an ec fan settings reset file. Run it and the fans will be back to normal. Also try using Silent Option if your system is compatible (or dragon center - i don't know if the fan options are present inside this appbecause i don't use it)

I already use silent option, all was working fine until that ec update.

Where exactly i that ec fan settings reset file? can't find it in the folder with the EC update from msi support

Looking at my fan profile in silent option, it is quite the same, yet the temps are higher. Extremely frustrating

Are the CPU's temps really that different from what you got used to call normal ? When did you repaste the cpu/gpu last time ? Mine (8750h) also hits 90+ degrees in gaming with no additional tweaks, but applying an undervoltage + turbo limits it doesn't go past 75 (maybe 80 in long gaming sessions). Also I think you have to reapply your settings in silent option after you've reseted the fans.

yeah, it used to be similar to the gpu temps, hovering at about 70-80C at most while gaming, as well as sitting at 30-40C idle. Laptop was dead silent while idle with 0 fans rotating, now i had to readjust the curve (after EC and after the fan reset i did today) so it starts revving later on. Also have to keep the fans at 150% while gaming

Repasted both cpu and gpu 5 months ago with an industrial grade server paste (better/same performance as liquid metal); also have undervolt at -125mv

I also keep my fans at 150%. As long as I know that's no harm for neither the fans or the laptop. Temps are really good for me even though I own a gf63 8rd thin that doesn't have a great cooling system. Try to look for apps that keep your system in use (while you consider it idles).

believe me, it is min maxed. w10 LTSC 1809 build 17763.1577, only throttlestop and silent option running in idle (nvidia drivers are without geforce experience for no bloat); as well as additional system debloat. 0% cpu usage and 13% memory usage (16gb ram)
