    @Hironori Taniguchi @johnbb @mr007rm @woodzstack

    Hey guys, so my understanding from this topic is that the MSI version of the 1070 MXM doesn't fit in the GT60? And the Eurocom version does fit, but it is a weaker version of the card and I should just go for the 1060? What about the power demands, and the input limit of 180W? And do you guys use 4k screens now or still FHD?

    I have a 16F4 GT60 barebones with a 970m and an i7 4800MQ. Thanks you in advance.

    Hey,
    You should go for MSI 1060 MXM. Eurocom 1070 GTX is made by gecube and from what I've heard, they are limiting the TDP to 115W. Gecube also have very high RMA rate so I'd stay away from these until they are proven to be worthy.

    Hi. It was about upgrading a MSI 2PC GTX 880m to 1070. It was possible. although my laptop, which was like the one I did the procedure, died. I don't think it was caused by the graphic card, but it died anyway.
    I used a 1070 from Eurocom, bought from woodzstack. I knew there was some power limit, and for that SVET helped but, cant be changed. but it worked fine. I played No one's sky, super smooth, much better than 880M. also ATRONEER, and MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA smoothly in High or Ultra setting.
    I still used FHD.

    @sicili428: good to know that gecube has finally mastered the mxm production of pascal cards. As I can see, they now have 150W 1070s and 120W 1060s.
    Very good news for us who still keep MXM laptops!

    Thanks a lot for your response! Hmm so what do you recommend after sicili428's post? Is there a difference between the 1060 on the gecube(eurocom) site and the MSI one? I don't know what my 16F4 GT60 can power without throttling. I would really like a 1070 but 150W is obviously out of the question..

    Definitely go for 1060 GTX MSI (black PCB version). It absolutely rocks, has quite low tdp so should not overload your PSU (180W for MSI GT60 if I remember correctly) and has tremendous overclocking capabilities. Perfect for 1080p gaming.
    1070 GTX is worth if you intend to play on 1440p screen but the 150W is out of the question as it will max out your PSU. That leaves the 115W one, that in my opinion, is not worth the price difference with the 1060.
