Hello! Let me preface this saying I'm very new to the computer world and am still trying to full understand everything. This is definitely a idiotic question, however I can't find a concrete answer anywhere (before anyone hits me with "do your research" statement, I'm deployed to the ME and don't have a lot of time to do such things).

Anyway, my question is on an Alienware 15 R2, are you able to upgrade the GPU without replacing the motherboard? Please let me know.

    v/r,
    Matt

Thanks for the reply. So you're basically out of luck regarding the GPU?

Short answer no, long answer yes.

You cannot upgrade the internal GPU.

The latest Alienware system feature the Alienware Graphics Amplifier port for providing you with desktop graphics power. With this you will be able to extend the life of your system and run games at their maximum for years to come.
