    Hi,

I've been experiencing packet loss with this card and wanted to do an upgrade. I've ordered a 4965 ABG/N with 3 antenna cables. I know this card will fit, but will my notebook recognise it?
Will the card show up in my devices list? Do i just plug it in and install the drivers? or what?

    Need help fast :p

    Grtz,

    Tax.

Acer's don't have lock on what cards you can use. Hopefully, you didn't buy a card designated for an HP/Lenovo, those cards won't work. Not sure if you will have 3 antenna already in there but it will run ok with 2 as well.

My 5920G (dead now) had the intel 4965 and it worked fine. You shouldn't have any problems. BTW, even though the card has ports for 3 antennas, my laptop was using only two. Just plugged it in and windows will install the drivers automatically or you can download the drivers from Acer website

    I don't have a router that supports 'n' anyway so, 2 antenna's is fine, for now :p

    Thanks guys.

What made you go with a 4965 instead of a 5300?

Well the 5300 is the top of the line card and is the same price as its predecessor, the card you bought.
