It doesn't "destroy" it, but it is indeed better.

The 8600M GT is about 1.5 times faster than the 8600M GS. In my book it destroys it :D

I think it would be helpful to show the highest performing video card that is available for each of 13", 14", 15", 17" laptop sizes. Perhaps here or somewhere else.

just wondering and some very straight question wanted to ask for a very long time:

    8700m GT
    1) Does the 8700GT of mobile dominate the 8600GT & GTS of the desktop version??

    2) How much difference in percentage of the performance of the mobile 8700m GT vs the 8600m GT??

    8800GTS:
    1) Which desktop version are the best 8800GTS?? 640mb? or the 512mb-3? (kinda confusing).

    2) How much difference in percentage of the performance of the mobile version 8800m GTS vs the 8800m GTX??

p/s: Thank you very much for answering these question since i cant refer to anyone but this forum only... really wanted to know the answer because im very curious and also thinking of getting an 8800 GTS for my desktop.

Opinion will be accepted fully and very much appreciated. Thank you.
