Hopefully intel can now up their mainstream platform at least and break the 20x CPU lanes and 4 core ceiling at some point.

A beefed up mainstream platform makes that even less likely and that's what competition will do.

coffeelake will be out for 6c/6t i believe, or possibly 12t but only comes with dual channel which imho its simply retarded, intel is holding back quite a bit and only thing got going for us isnt reseller asking clevo to do HEDT platform in laptops again, its ryzen with 8c/16t pushing intel to offer those higher end cpu at lower cost.

Considering how little using dual channel ram impacts the performance of the x99 I would say saving the cost of a larger socket and more expensive motherboards makes sense.

the correct thing to say should be, the software we use taking little advantage of quad channel ram, or even dual ranked ram.

If the memory bandwidth can keep the cores fed then that's the main usage, it's down to the balance to that. There is no point in wasting it just for the sake of using it.

they were saying between computex in june or gamscon in august. originally intel planned to release it in computex almost always for HEDT cpu so i dont know if ryzen really making intel to release it sooner. we can only cross our fingers and hope @Eurocom Support and other resellers put out their request for us and its enough to see a change.

if still nada, then 870km here i come
