How did you fix it? I have both detail levels set to max, 1280x800, and intense on but it's still blurry for me

    Here we go,

and sorry for the delay, but my gf dragged me out for shopping.
I have 163.76 installed, with no OC on my 8600M GT and running XP.

    Settings:

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

That should give you a rough overview. And remember that the screenshots don't really capture the graphics quality and the stunning visuals in the game (compression). There is one thing I did miss though....that nice motion blur effect from crysis.

    Definitely a UT3 buyer here.

PS: I'm still hoping that Dell releases an 8800M which will fit into my 1520.

EDIT: I think I double posted some of the screenshots, but I'm just too lazy to sort them out now.

after i downloaded the demo from fileplanet, spywaredoctor detected a potential malicious process in ut3demo.exe

is this for real or what?

I have it set to 1280x800 with post processing normal, world detail and textures both set at 3. The most consistent framerates i'll get are around 25-30 with frequent dips into the mid teens, which makes a game like UT unplayable.

Never experienced a drop below 21 FPS, even in a recorded bench I made now running for over 30 minutes, and my settings were even higher then yours. (across all maps available in the UT3 demo)

Maybe you should just clean house and reinstall your drivers and apply some tweaks. Oh and I finally got into internet play and had some fun (damn sever overloads), even when having 8+ vehicles/player on screen at the same time it never dropped below 21 FPS.

Hope you get that problem solved, as the 8600M GT provides more than satisfactory performance in a low-budget laptop like the 1520.

Ah you're having the same problem too?

read my post on 127th. You have to set Screen percentage to 100% as shown here:

Surprisingly enough, UT3 Demo runs VERY well on my Go 7600 notebook.

If I set graphics to '2' and post processing off, I can pull about 25 frames in 1024x768, and a SOLID 30 on 1024x640.

The game engine is solid - I can launch of MULTIPLE redeemer shots and get no lag.... thats something UT2004 could never handle!

What is post processing? there's 4 options - None, default, vivid and intense. What's the difference?
