I just purchased office 2010 and am downloading the file. Should I delete office 2007 before I install 2010 or will 2010 just install over it?

You can just upgrade. Handy if you use Outlook and don't want to have to use the backup tool, and put all your stuff in. Also useful for your 2007 settings you want transferred to 2010.

Hey...I bought a copy of Office 2007 which is eligible for the upgrade when Office 2010 is released. How would I get to know when I can do the upgrade? Will there be a public announcement of sorts?

Thanks. Much appreciated. I should have looked it up. Am downloading the installer now!

Edit: Downloaded and installed. Now, I don't know whether I prefer Office 2010 or 2007. Maybe just a question of getting used to it.

I honestly really like 2010. I used the Beta, Technical Preview, and Release Candidate of it. I shall be buying it when it hits stores!

I especially like the 2010 Outlook, I think it's an awesome upgrade from 2007. Looks a lot nicer and cleaner.

The whole reason I want to get 2010 is for the Outlook update as it felt out of place in 2007.

When I do get around to installing 2010 I will be doing it by clean install, but that is just me cautious, you can just upgrade.

Can you install Outlook 2010 as an independent install? And, if yes, does it integrate with the rest of Office as well as when you install a Version that comes with Outlook?

I have the Home and Student version which comes without Outlook. After looking through Outlook and trying it out, if I like it and it suits my purpose, maybe I can get that, but then it would be an independent install - I just want to be sure.

    Thanks

I had Visio and Project 2007 installed along side 2010. So Outlook should be the same.

^^ Ummm...seems I can't buy Outlook 2010 as a standalone product!!! Sucks! I may have to upgrade to Office Business or whatever that version is called. Or, remain satisfied with Windows Live Mail (the desktop client) when Wave 4 releases.
