I'm scared to ask the forum for any help on Linux on m14x, it was a nightmare installing and uninstalling it on my m11x. It corrupted a part of my hard drive and I lost my recovery options. I had to reformat manually, install the drives and make new boot sectors!

I'm testing it this morning and will report back shortly :)

I noticed today that the video's all fixed up :D

    Installing it now

I don't really understand why I'd need to use the nVidia card though, not like I'm going to game on linux. Is there any other reason that I might need it?

dont expect battery to be better on linux. my experience tells that mostly its worse. especially if you dont put a lotta work into fine-tuning your pinguinmachine.
