Definitely agree. Both have very appealing designs.

All I've seen so far is "Up to 8 hours of battery life". So if that's to be believed I'm guessing it will be roughly 5-6 hours of real life use.

I'm sure we'll be seeing review units soon.

any reason why this is launching later than the rest of the RTX laptops?

Also, are there confirmed specs for the different builds/pricepoints for this model?

Acer is always late to the party.
I think they make less units than the other companies as they always seem to out of stock of popular laptops too. So maybe they started making them late?

Is there a launch date and any ideas on price?
The more I look a the Triton 500 the more I like it.
It’s a shame more places like XoticPC, GenTech PC or Hidevolution don’t offer ACER laptops particularly Triton/Predator lineups.
I like that’s its thin but not too thin and allows more space to cool hardware.

Sadly, I wished they did, I'll probably buy from Amazon, ship to HID and ask them to do the thermal pasting for me if I deem the laptop needing it after testing.

I thought this Acer ad was helpful.

It details the cooling solution which consists of (3) fans and (5) heat pipes.

I haven't seen anything. The triton 700 was scarce when it was released up until now. So maybe they just didn't both with it since it was difficult to get them. I can imagine HIDevolution buys in bulk to get a discount and Acer might not have been able to provide them with the orders or maybe even refused?

Triton 700 was at Costco for a period of time, I got mine there but returned it after a few weeks, 2.8k price didn't equate to the performance it was providing. Ted@HID is my rep and when I asked him about selling Acer, he said that they are looking into it as they have had folks asking them about it. Hopefully, we will have good news soon. From reading online, the Triton 500 is suppose to come out in Feb and Triton 900 in March. For pricing, they've mentioned 1799, so I'm guessing that will be the 2060 model then add a mark up for 2070 and 2080 and the 900 will be ridiculously expensive.

Aaah. So it might have been an interest issue? Makes sense.
Pretty you're right on the 1799 being the 206p model. If it hass 144hz and gsync that's not a bad price. Hopefully the 2080 model isn't 3000.

Yeah, it's probably an interest thing, heck Acer was never on my radar until I saw the Triton 700. I've always associated them with cheap to mid range stuff. My first ever Acer product was the Predator 34x.

I'm guessing close to it as other 2080 laptops are near that price range.
