    Hello,

I am seeing if it is feasible for me to trade my desktop for a gaming laptop. Or if I would be better off parting it out and selling part by part. I am a little time crunched, thus why I would prefer the ease of a trade.

The min specs I need in a laptop are at least a 1080 and 6 core mobile I7. I am going on international work travel for two months and need something to take with me. As I am going to be traveling, I want something light (as light as possible) similar to the new Alienware's, or the Razer Blade.

Does this sound reasonable, or am I better off stripping it down part by part? I still have all original boxes (I'm a box hoarder).

UPDATE: Added some price guesstimates for if I decide to part. Do these sound about right?

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X (The one with RGB) - $140
I hate selling cases. This will probably sit in my basement.
    Motherboard: Z390 Aorus Master - $200?
    CPU: i9 9900K - $420?
CPU Cooler: 250W TDP Dark Rock Pro 4 - $50?
GPU: Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2080 Windforce - $650?
    Ram: Trident Z RGB 16GB (2X8GB) 3000MHZ - $60?
    SSD: EVO 960 M.2 512GB - $150? (don't even remember what I spent)
    PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular - $100?

SSD price is about 2x too high (IMO; though Samsung still commands a higher price).

If you want to try selling the case, maybe local? Facebook marketplaces, Craigslist, reddit local hardware swaps, etc?

Shipping is kinda expensive nowadays for big items.
