Actually, it's widely held the worst movie ever to be Plan 9 from Outer Space. ;)

Are we talking broadcast with commercials, commercial free cable, rental, or theater? It matters. With "crossing guard" you would have put down your $20 popcorn/soda and fled the theater.

Edit: This assumes it was ever shown in a theater.

The Crossing Guard gets a rating of 6.3 out of 10 on Internet Movie Database.

Roger Ebert gave it a rating of 2½ stars (I believe his system is based on 4 stars).

Proving conclusively the inmates are running the asylum. I live in CA. One look at our elected officials is clear evidence popular opinion is synonymous with mass hysteria.

    *Hisses at the Alliance sympathizer*

If you're a fan and you hate it cuz you felt Wash and Book's deaths were egregious and served no purpose that furthered the plot, I agree. If you feel Mal's behavior was completely out of character in many scenes and it was an unnecessary plot device, I agree. But one of the worst two movies of all time? I can think of hundreds of movies that were worse... and so can the guys at MST3K.

I fear we've gone beyond thread-hijacking and have now moved into thread-roller-derby territory...

    ROTFL!

I'd almost be willing to bet that there are Forum readers that have never even seen a roller derby. ;)

Daddy, what does "Formatting Drive C:" mean?
