You may go ahead but you need the audioboard of the same MARK as the MK1 has diffferent audioboard setting. Mark 2-5 has the same only MK1 is different. Good Luck!

Thanks... how about upgrading the wireless card? the mk4/5 have a a/b/g while the mk1 just has b. Would that be a simple swap also?

Do the CF-29 keyboards (emissive) and MP CD drives work in a CF-30?

Well.... Yes and no... And no.

The keyboard connectors are the same.... But there is an attahced piece on the bottom of the CF-30 keyboard (Std keyboard only) that slides to lock it in place. The emissive and rubber types do not have this as they are thick and double-sided tape is used to help keep it in place. The standard keyboard is so thin that something is needed to help "fill it out"....

Now... With that said.... If you have a CF-29 Std keyboard that has the extra backing on it... double sided tape will do the same thing for it that it does on the emissive and rubber types.

DVD drives are not swappable between MK-29 and MK30...

Does anyone know if the Touchscreens are interchangeable for Cf-30 Mk-1 and the Cf-30 Mk -3? I know that they have different part numbers.

Can the green backlit chicklet keyboard from a 28 Mk2 or Mk3 be put in a 29?

    @ Almstprfct1
No, the keyboard will work but the backlite uses a higher ac voltage which is optional on a few cf-28's only
The cf-29's only output 5vdc to illuminate the keyboard
