This is the point where you make or break, and come out with an actual interesting product instead of a clone of everything else on the market.

As a former Toshiba laptop owner, I can't say I'd miss them.

I have had some great Toshiba notebook in my time, Solidly built, OK displays some had amazing sound.

    John.
Yeah, I had some great Toshiba notebooks, Excellent build quality and some had very good sound, Big open speakers on either side pump up the beat and watch them bounce.

Well no more Sony Windows Notebooks, Or Samsung Windows Notebooks and now no Toshiba at all.

What is left Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo (watch out for spyware)

    John.

There's also HP and Apple, as well as the Clevo and MSI derivatives :).

Can't say I would be sorry to see them go. I've taken apart many MANY laptops in my day, and I've honestly never taken apart something that was so embarrassingly put together as a Toshiba notebook. Tape, glue, plastic, and an Intel chip. I will give them the one thing they actually deserve, though... their H/K speakers on some of their higher end laptops are pretty damn good, and they even had a few models where you could use the speaker system even if the laptop was off. Toshiba and Harmon/Kardon go REALLY well together.

Literally the only Toshiba I remember in recent years that got good reviews was the Chromebook 2 from a couple years ago, and that was a $200 machine with razor-thin margins. If their laptops disappeared from the market I'm not sure anyone would notice.

VAIO is still sold, it's just not a Sony subsidiary.

    Samsung still sells Windows laptops.

Also Gigabyte and Aorus. Hadn't even heard of them until recently, but they seem to be building a positive reputation.

I thought Samsung only made chrome books now.
