Is it okay to torrent at colleges? I'm not torrenting anything illegeal. I am just downloading fansubbed anime that is not licensed yet in the U.S. I'm pretty sure the RIAA/MPAA do not term them as illegal. If I can't torrent at all, then I just stick to direct downloading.

Most colleges/unis block the ports that BitTorrent clients use so that torrenting is not possible.

it doesn't matter what is torrented....most universities will shut down the ports of users, if there is high bandwidth usage for long periods of time.....at least in my experience.

If the door of the shop is open ... 9 out of 10 will steal...u r the one left out.

so the Door has to be closed.

Torrent Ports are blocked in Colleges and most offices to reduce bandwidth usage and prevent Legal Liability.
