    Hello :

    Got a barebone tornado F5 for 440.00 (no cpu , no ram , no gpu) and i want to install a gtx 1080 on it , outside the box (according to the picture seller sent me) it says the laptop came with a gtx 1070. I wrote to eurocom and they responded me the following:

    Gtx 1080 needs different motherboard as mounting holes for gtx 1080 are different. So in order to upgrade you would need to replace both motherboard and GPU. Also you need 330W AC adapter.

    My motherboard has a green pcb , i noticed some tornado F5 laptops which have a gtx 1080 have a black pcb. So the question is my motherboard is upgradeable to gtx 1080 or not? if yes what mods do i need in order to install the gtx 1080 ?

    BTW the laptop is on the way , still dont have it with me.

    Thanks for your time

    I'm also interested in it. Also I'm interested if any of new GPU's (1170 possibly?) will be available in MXM format and could be used to replace current 1070 in F5?

    Only the GTX 1080 heatsink is needed.

    @Mobius 1 Tell them: Fite me ! :):)
    BTW i'm bored.
    Should I mod my 1070 to 230W?

    Assuming the GT73VR MUST allow 230W to graphics because it has a 1070 SLI configuration (115W * 2) and a 1080 configuration (150W-slot, 50w power connector), 230W has to be in the power allowance. But is it shared or split up? Either it will work or something will blow up and then I can go buy a Clevo 8700K.

    @Mobius 1 I don't know!
    I tried to PM @Khenglish but he hasn't replied in ages. He and @sirgeorge were supposed to test the power delivery system (since no one could find the FETs the MXM slot used, he thinks maybe it didnt use FETs but was always powered on) but i didn't hear anything back from anyone!
