Run Aida64 FPU only and monitor CPU temp+clock+power+power limits via HWinfo. Let me know your results

    Hi there,

    My ThrottleStop settings :
    CPU Core & Cache @-0.121mV & Intel GPU @-0.125mV.
    Max TDP 1 : 55W/TDP 2 : 65W
    SpeedShift : 128 SST.

I need to put SpeedShift @128 for all day utilization like gaming or heavy apps because of high temperatures, but here, if I set it to 0 and only stressing FPU with AIDA64 it doesn't change temps a lot but is increasing performances and clocks.

    EDIT :
I got a lot of screenshots after benchmarks or gaming.
Here's an example of Heroes Of The Storm, which isn't using CPU a lot, so it won't heat so much :

The strangest thing is that EVERYTIME or mostly, only one or two cores are heating up, so that would mean that thermal paste isn't good, nah ?

    Thx

Looks fine to me, you might want to lower PL1 and PL2 since they are insanely high in Tongfangs (eg PL1 45W, PL2 60W)

This is an issue. The core difference should be max around 5 degrees, not 20.
Or the paste is not good or worse, the heatsink is completly warped. I would start with a repaste.

Power limits are indeed insane in the Tongfang. CPU alone can consume 80W (in my device at least). In games after tuning with throttlestop it consumer 35-40W.
Ik regret a bit that I din,t took the RTX2060 or GTX1660ti because they consumes less than the RTX2070. But all in all it is still quiet and performing good.

Only thing is the keystrokes that are missing. I didn't dare to update the EC yet...

My laptop was shipped with liquid metal and experienced pretty close to the same issues you are experiencing. One core would hit 99 degrees almost immediately and throttle.

I sent it back to eluktronics and they reapplied and tested before sending back to me. No issues after they reapplied.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have the thermal compound replaced.

Biggest issue with this machine is PWM. I'm very sensitive to it.

Has anyone successfully swapped this out with, say, the AUO409D or the CMN175C?

Which exact model? Did you set the correct power mode in command center?
