I feel that! My temp used to be better, and I think because of this temp rise, my screen is screwed up now.

where do you get your data from? i think i bought it because of a recommendation of @B0B (maybe he recommended it for desktops idk + i dont want to blame any1 for my decisions) - maybe it is not objectively bad? why do you think is the type screw allignment/heatsink relevant for the type of thermal paste you use? sorry again for my n00b questions; very new to this stuff

I was wondering if you guys could offer your two cents on my buying dilema.
I've been struggling to pick between a GK5 and a GK7 for quite some time now and this black friday the prices seem to be right for me to finally come to a conclusion.

    These are my options:

    GK5 w/ 1660 ti - 1163 €
    GK5 w/ 2060 - 1333 €
    GK5 w/ 2070 Max-Q - 1563 €

    GK7 w/ 1660 ti - 1241 €
    GK7 w/ 2060 - 1394 €
    GK7 w/ 2070 - 1581 €

I know we should go for the best GPU we can afford and if I end up choosing the GK7 I probably will, but I'm not sure the price gap between a 2060 and a 2070 Max-Q on the GK5 is worth it.

What are your thoughts on this?

    Thanks

I've jıust downloaded it and installed over a clean windows. I suggest you to do the same. Install all drivers given by the oem and don't let windows update to install drivers automatically.

First of all a 15" laptop is the way to go. It's fantastic and doesn't feel like a concrete block. The 2060 is probably your best option, just be sure to get a laptop cooling pad or something. Heat melts internal components in these laptops. It really does.

After I send it to warranty, I'll probably try to grab one as well. Do you know any good one @RealBACONATOR2 ?

I'll try the trick with the NV clean install first. Did the chipset update and it did not do anything. Will fresh install windows as a last resort

Many others in this thread have reported that kryonaut pumps out within a few weeks of application on this laptop. It's simply not thick enough to stay between the uneven heatsink surface and the dies. The pastes I listed are very thick in comparison, so they have a better shot of not pumping out over a longer period of time.
