Hi, I'm hypotizeing to leave my Lenovo x220 for a Lenovo X270 (like new conditions and 10 months of warranty) that I've found for a 290 euro.

It seems to me an average good price, considering this notebook has:

    Processor: 1x Intel Core i5-6300U Processor(Core i5-6300U)
    Memory: 1x 16GB DDR4-2133
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64 preinstalled through downgrade rights in Windows 10
    Hard Drive: 1 x 180GBOPAL2.0

    What about it ?

Does it worth the price and represents an effective upgrade respect to Lenovo X220 ?

In my opinion, no. The i5 in the X270 is only a modest bump in performance over the i5 in your X220.

I think it would be done an overall consideration, not only CPU...

If you want to do it, then do it, but I still don't think it's much of an upgrade. If you have a specific need for a lot of memory, then perhaps the X270 is worth the cost. You could also upgrade the X220 to 16GB for a lot less.

You're not considering battery life, ssd, gpu, display and portability.

Considering only CPU and ram has no sense, in my opinion.

ZaZ is one of our foremost business laptop experts, so it would be wise to heed the advice given. However, it sounds like you've already made up your mind.

A modest performance increase in any of those categories, which is in my opinion what the X270 will offer you, does not justify spending the money. You are of course free to feel otherwise and purchase whatever you like.

If the X220 you have now does not have the IPS screen and the X270 does, that in my opinion would be a very tangible benefit and worth the cash.

This x270 has a full hd display but not ips.

The x220 has no IPS display, too.

But the quality could be however higher.

I'm really not sure in what to do but for a little less than 300 euro it appeared to me like a good deal considering its several remaining of warranty.

This seems odd to me. According to the specs the FHD should be IPS unless it was different in Europe.
